The Journey to Your Monns Maine Coon
Bringing home a Maine Coon is a 12 week journey of growth and preparation. Here is how our process works:

Step 1: The Application
Everything begins with our Kitten Application. We want to ensure our Gentle Giants are a perfect match for your lifestyle. We review applications for household compatibility, pet history, and your preferences for color or gender.

Step 2: Joining the Waitlist
Once your application is approved, you may join our formal waitlist by placing a non-refundable deposit. This secures your place in line for upcoming litters.

Step 3: Kitten Selection

When a litter arrives, we notify our waitlist in the order deposits were received. At approximately 4 weeks of age, we allow families to choose their kitten. This age ensures the kittens’ unique personalities and coat patterns are starting to shine.

Step 4: Growth & Updates
While your kitten grows, we send regular photo and video updates! During this time, the kittens receive:
• Socialization with humans and other pets.
• Litter box and scratch-post training.
• Two rounds of age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming.
• A thorough veterinary exam and health certificates.

Step 5: Homecoming Day
At 12 weeks of age at pick up you will receive:
• Your signed Health Guarantee & Sales Contract unless this was completed digitally.
• A “Go-Home” bag with wet and dry food and a toy.
• A complete health record.
• Instructions for TICA/CFA registration.

Important Policies to Note:
• Pet Only: All kittens are sold as pets only with a strict spay/neuter agreement unless otherwise discussed and approved.
• Indoor Only: For their safety, our cats must remain indoor-only pets.
• No Declawing: We have a zero-tolerance policy for declawing.

WE DO NOT ALLOW IN HOME VISITS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR OUR CATS OR OUR CHILDREN. WE ARE HAPPY TO FACETIME AND PROVIDE VET REFERENCES AS WELL AS REFERENCES FROM OUR PREVIOUS FAMILIES.

At Monns Maine Coons, we prioritize finding the perfect match between our kittens and their future families. To ensure a fair and organized process, we operate under the following guidelines:

Application: All potential owners must complete an initial screening to ensure a safe and loving environment.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to join our formal waitlist. This fee is applied toward the final purchase price of your kitten.

Selection Order: Kittens are offered to waitlist members in the order that deposits were received. We reserve the right to hold back “breeder’s choice” kittens for our own program.

Communication: Once a litter is born, waitlist members will be notified via email or text. You will have until kittens are 4 weeks old to confirm interest in a specific kitten before we move to the next family on the list.

Maine Coons are a very high maintenance and expensive breed to maintain. It is important to feed Maine Coons high quality food and keep their coats brushed out. They will need regular sanitary trims as well.

Absolutely! We stand by the health of our kittens 100%. If for any reason they didnt pass their vet health checks we would transfer your deposit to another litter. We also have a one year health guarantee from hereditary diseases.

*We are happy to test your kitten for hereditary diseases with Optimal Selection prior to them leaving. This would be at the expense of the buyer and would need paid prior to the test being ordered.*

Our kittens pricing starts at $2200 for females and $2500 for males, which reflects the quality of our breeding program, genetic health testing of parents, premium nutrition, and the extensive socialization each kitten receives before joining your home.

We are located in Shippensburg Pa.

To protect the health of our nursing mothers and young kittens (whose immune systems are still developing), we do not offer in-home visits for general browsing. However, we provide plenty of high-quality photos and videos so you can watch your kitten grow.

Maine Coons are a slow-maturing breed. Those extra weeks are vital for social weaning, where they learn boundaries from their mother and siblings. This ensures you receive a confident, well adjusted cat rather than a timid one.

We are a proud member of TICA. All of our kittens are eligible for registration.

Both of my adult Maine Coons are imports from Russia. Zada was born right here at Monns Maine Coons from our own Zara and Russian import Roscoe.
